The season of the American Top Gear has finally been put to an
end for this year. This season was probably one of the poorest seasons in my
opinion except for three episodes in this season. But out of all the other
seasons that Top gear has put out, the seasons before this were so much better
than this season. They included so many different attention drawing episodes
that they had me just wanting more and more episodes. Also, every season that
Top Gear has put out has been decreasing in the amount of episodes they have in
each season. In the beginning seasons of Top Gear, they had actually well
planned shows that featured very interesting topics and they did a very good
job on that. They also had many unique challenges and different types of cars
that would draw the audience closer. I know that because the earlier seasons of
Top Gear had me waiting and waiting for each show to come out. But like I said before,
this season was poor except three shows that they had. Id honestly rather watch
the British Top Gear because they actually know what they are doing. I could
watch the same episode over and over again and never get bored of it. The
British Top Gear has had more than 20 seasons let out and all of them are ten
times better than the American Top Gear. I have asked many people on what they
think about the American and the British Top Gear, and basically almost every
person that I have asked about both Top Gears said that the British Top Gear is
the way to go. Hopefully the American Top gear crew takes a trip down to
England to get a few tips on how to run a show that keeps the audience asking
for more.

Top gear Episode 10
This episode of Top Gear was actually pretty awesome. They
were all told to but huge trucks that were capable and able to drive in deep
snow. Once that was done, they met up in Iceland seeing their trucks for the
first time. Tanner chooses a 1979 Ford Bronco with a huge lift sitting on 44
inch tires. Adam got a 1984 Chevy k30 also with a huge lift but sitting on 49
inch tires and last but not least, Rutledge got a 1973 International Scout 2
which also had a huge lift and on 44 inch tires. The trucks that they chose
were very large and pretty bad ass looking. Their challenge was related to all
the European trucks because they all conquered all American built trucks on
their off-roading in Iceland where it’s all just piles and piles of snow. With
their trucks, they had to prove to all the European trucks that they could also
make it with really old vehicles. They were told to drive partly on land to get
to their first destination that introduced their tires to mud, water, ice and
snow. Once they reached their, they would spend the night in cabins along the
way. But keep in mind that the cabins that they stayed in were completely
covered in snow and partially abandoned. They also had to cross deep river
banks and had to make it up to their final destination which was a volcano. As I
watched they show, I kept on pressing fast forward because this episode was
very entertaining and actually a very big step up from their previous episode.
Going off road, traveling through barley visible snow/fog and really deep snow
made this episode awesome. All though as you would expect, each of them
struggled a lot just to get through snow/ice but they had to team work it out
to get past that speed bump. Each of the challenges they had to overcome such
as passing through rivers, races along the beach, traveling through 10ft plus
deep snow were all really really good challenges and really good ways of
getting the audience involved in this show. This episode was one of the best
episodes in this season of Top gear. Can’t wait for the next one!

Top Gear Episode 9
This episode of Top gear was actually pretty interesting. The each had chose three cars. Adam chosen a Chevy-s10, Rutledge chose a Subaru forester and Tanner chose a Nissan 300zx. They were each told to meet their cars in the icy cold Minnesota. Meeting up with each other, they found their cars buried in snow. They had to dig their cars out to get to them and get to the first main meeting point. This episode was nicknamed "winter beater cars". Seeing the name winter, snow, and ice. Rutledge and Adam chose 4-wheel drive vehicles, whereas Tanner chose a rear-wheel drive car. Having all this said, they had a series of challenges testing the cars durability, strengths, weaknesses, and just the basic drive ability. Each of these cars failed at some point of the challenges. But I feel like, all the challenges that they had were just overrated and stupid. Yes some of them were reasonable such as testing the heat and hold up capability, but they should have had real life challenges such as testing it on ice or snow and different types or ways maneuvering a car in adverse conditions. If they did that, then this show would actually benefit and entertain the audience that Top gear is shooting for. In this episode, you could easily tell that all the action that took place or camera was scripted. And in my book, whenever a show is scripted, it just ruins the show. So far, this season of Top Gear was "okay". It could be a lot better like the British Top Gear but nooo. Anyways, as I always say, hopefully the next show will be better.

Top Gear Episode 8
This episode of
top gear was named "Best SUV"; in my opinion this episode was
pretty good. On this show they each chose vehicles that had the SUV name in it.
Adam chose a Cadillac, Tanner chose a Range Rover and Rutledge chose a
Jeep. Rutledge made the right decision by bringing a Jeep Cherokee
SRT8 for the challenge. After they all met up at a beach, they headed down
to their first challenge. They each put their SUV's to the test with a series
of challenges that showed the strengths and the weaknesses of each vehicle
that ranged from performance to off-road capability. The challenges
they had on the show weren't as good and you could probably guess the
outcome of the challenge or just the small things that each of the guys did on
the show. So far in this series of Top Gear, the apocalypse episode was the
best. This episode slightly brought it down but they sort of made up for it by
the funny and stupid stuff they did. Some challenges that they did were
pretty entertaining, such as when they had to take couple on a picnic date
on a farmland. This challenge was testing the ride comfort. This challenge was
funny because of how they drove and the reviews that they got from the couples.
The best challenge was probably the the off-road test when they had
to drive through a couple feet of snow that was on a snowboarding route,
surprisingly the Cadillac won the challenge going the furthest up the
hill. Many would think that the Cadillac would lose because of the weight
and how big it is, but it won this challenge. After all the challenges they
had, Rutledge won because Jeeps are made for off-road and just for everyday
use. This episode was and okay episode but it was still good and entertaining. Can’t wait to see
the next one!

Top Gear Episode 7
Episode 7 of Top Gear was actually pretty good and interesting. This episode was based on the apocalypse. Top Gear actually grabbed my attention because it was interesting and awesome. In this episode, they were given a car that would be one of the most bought vehicles in the U.S which was the Toyota Camry. With this, they had to act as if there was an apocalypse and build a vehicle up that would protect them. Having that as their first challenge, they did that. And it turned out to look like this..... I personally thought this looked awesome. With this Camry built up, they had a series of challenges to put their new apocalypse ready car to the test. All the challenges that they out this Camry through was very entertaining and a very big step up from the previous episode. Although, as i said before, that this show was scripted, watching this episode of Top Gear, anybody could tell that this show was very well scripted which obviously downgrades the show a lot. But having he apocalypse theme show and car that they made was pretty cool and bumped up what they lost. The car that they put together had many modifications to handle the apocalypse like terrain. Modifications began with f-150 truck chassis, lifted, mud tires, an outside roll cage with an electric cage on it, racing seats and harnesses, a cow catcher brush guard inn roll cage and a smoke screen device to throw off other bad people, all these things that they had done to the car was really really cool. And they really stepped up their game from the last episode. Hopefully they will carry on with this and keep on bumping it up.

Top Gear Episode 6
This episode of Top Gear was called "Adams Show", meaning that he took over the show and he could only deal with what he wants to do on the show. This was only set for this episode. Honestly, I feel that the new episodes Top Gear are making are going downhill and not getting better as I hoped. On this show, Adam drove his dream car, which was a Ford GT-540, put it up against a Ferrari and proved his point that this car had the extra "umph" to beat the Italian super car which it did. Then, they played football with their cars against a demolition derby team which was sort of entertaining but they could do better, and lastly Adam created this little course to show all the pet "peevs" he has about other drivers which was really really stupid. Top Gear's season before this was WAY more better than what they are putting out now. They had many more activities that would try to capture the audiences attention, but this season is just total crap. I now know why people say that the British Top Gear is better than the American Top Gear. Before, I thought that this was better than the British Top Gear, but since then, i regret saying that. The British Top Gear is WAY better than the American Top Gear because they try to capture and entertain the fans by doing stupid stuff and actual things that many people have interests on. Rather than playing football in vehicles...As i say at the end of my blogs, hopefully the next show will be a step up. Or possibly another step downhill.

Top Gear Episode 5
This Episode of Top Gear seemed very short and a very small step up from the previous episode. On this episode, the guys challenge was to replace the regular taxi cab that roams all around the busiest and major cities such as New York and Las Vegas. With that being said, they each chose a vehicle that could be a possible choice for the taxi cab drivers. Tanner chose a Scion Xb, Rutledge chose a Chevy El-Camino and Adam chose a Ford Ambulance which was named the "Cab-ulance". After they all met up at their meeting point, they headed to a series of challenges trying to prove to each other why theirs was better than the others. After that, they were told to set out on the Las Vegas Strip to see how many passengers and how much money the could get. Tanner won this challenge by receiving $80 dollars in tip money. His reward for getting the most tips was that he could test out a newly released British car called the Maserati. After getting used to all the driving features of the Maserati, he put it up against a NASCAR stock driver. They were to race around half of the oval and in a in field track that was curved in many different directions. Under the hood of the Maserati, this vehicle pushed over 500 hp, but on the other hand, the stock car pushed over 900 hp. Both of them raced, many people would think that the stock car would have an easy win but the Maserati had an amazing lead straight off of the line and all the corners of the track, but on the straightaways the muscle of the stock car over powered the 500 hp Maserati. The stock car won the race but the Maserati was right on the bumper which was really good for a 500 hp car keeping up to a 900 hp car. This episode wasn't the best in this season, in my opinion, the episode called "RV's" was the best. And since that episode, Top Gear hasn't stepped up their game since that episode. I feel like that they should include more activities that will draw the audience closer to the episode. They should add more unusual things because more people will be more focused on things that they haven't seen before. Yes, we haven't seen a El-Camino and a "Cabulance" but they could have tried a lot harder to set their differences. Hopefully, the next episode will be better.

Top Gear Episode 4
This episode of Top Gear wasn't as good as the previous episodes in this season. The topic of this episode was nicknamed "speed". To me this episode was nicknamed "poor". For this episode, the had a to buy the cheapest vehicle possible for the least amount of money. But,the vehicles that they bought had to be capable of reaching 150 mph. Having that said, They each spent less than $3,600 dollars on their car. Adam chose a 1995 Pontiac Trans-am, Rutledge bought a 1994 Infiniti Q45 and Tanner bought a Saab 93 Vegan. With these vehicles, they had to reach at least 150 mph. But, they couldn't just go straight for it, they had to to do a couple of tests to see if the car could handle well because when you are traveling at a high rate of speed, there is a lot of things that come into play that you have to worry about. When traveling at high speeds, you have to worry about many things, those "things" includes, winds, what type of pavement you will be driving on, how old the car s, and many more. Top Gear set up a couple of challenges to test the cars weaknesses. As each challenge finished, each of the challenges tested how the car would handle in different positions. And there last and final challenge was set to see if their car of choice would be able to go up to 150 mph. Both Adam and Rutledge having V8's under the hood thought they wouldn't have a problem. But with the final challenge being done, Either Adam or Rutledge could touch 150. But Tanner, with his 4 cylinder stock turbo beat the challenge by 1 mph reaching 151 mph. But on the show, both Adam and Rutledge didn't believe that Tanner did it, so Rutledge claimed that he won the challenge. But Rutledge hit only about 138 mph. The show went on, since Rutledge "won" the challenge he was able to drive one of the fastest cars in the world, the Bugatti Veryon that has an outstanding top speed of 225 mph from the factory. Rutledge was told to deliver the car to a VIP which turned out to be Tanner. Adam and Tanner found out that Rutledge had cheated which was totally scripted. Tanner got to test out this beast and see how this car performs. This episode could have been way better than how it was planned. You could definitely tell that this episode was scripted which ruins the show in my opinion. Seeing this episode, i am hoping that the next episode will be a big step up. In my opinion, from a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the greatest, i thought this episode was a strong 6.

Top Gear Episode 3
Episode three for Top Gear was actually a pretty good show. This episode consisted of the guys buying any vehicle of their choice to convert them into RV's. And after they each picked their choice of vehicles, they were told to meet at a camp site. Tanner was the very first to show up, picking a 1983 Porsche 928s with a rocket on the roof top for his living space. Adam chose a 1973 Buick Centurion with a huge flat iron looking mini building mounted on top his car. Rutledge was the very last to come with a 1989 Honda Civic Wagon. Rutledge's wagon extended into a longer wagon with other RV like supplies to have a camp site. They had a series of challenges to test the durability, speed and strength of their "so called RV's". The very first challenge was to race to their camp site and see who could set up first. With Tanner being the professional driver, he was the very first one to show up at the site. After reaching there, they got news that they would be traveling 200 miles to Charlotte to meet others at a race way to camp out in field . But on the way there, they had to compete in a series of challenges. The very first challenge was to compete in a four wide drag race challenge, also racing a $400,000 dollar RV. The had to race all the way to the end of the track then make a U turn, and the first one back where they started won. Tanner obviously won because he had over 200 horsepower under his hood. The third challenge had them park their cars in front of 80 mile per hour fans that had a hose hooked up to it to produce a hurricane like situation. They each had to get situated in their RV's and get rain suits on as fast as they can. Adam won this challenge because he had a huge advantage of his RV being huge. After these challenges, the finally reached their destination, the had to camp in field on a race way with others. After this they headed to their last and final challenge which was on a dirt track. They had to race around it as many times as they could. Adam flipped first, Tanners engine died and Rutledge was the winner.
In my opinion, this episode was one of the best episodes that they had produced for awhile now. And this really caught attention because of all the challenges that they faced. I liked this episode so much that i cant wait for the next one to come out.

Top Gear (US Version) Episode #2 Review
Top Gears episode two was a pretty good episode that featured entertaining challenges. This episode was called, "Americas Toughest Vehicle". This episode was about the guys purchasing a vehicle that was at least 20 years old, and less than $2,000 dollars. With that being said, they could choose any vehicle that met these standards. Rutledge choose a 1990 Volvo 240, Adam choose a 1992 Chevy Caprice and lastly, Tanner choose a 1987 Toyota Corolla. After each of them gave a little info about their cars, they set off their first challenge which was a three way drag race. Rutledge had the slowest car and didn't even make it past the speed limit of 55 mph but while Adam had more horsepower under the hood, Tanner got the start with his 86 hp Corolla. But Adam was closely catching up to take the win of the first challenge. After this challenge they drove to a gun range and parked right behind each other right in front of the targets. This was their second challenge titled "reliability", They each had to shoot their cars with a 12 gauge shotgun. With is gun, they had to shoot each others cars three times. They chose to shoot the Volvo first, then the Chevy and finally the Corolla. Each car suffered bullet damage on the body and broken windows. But they were not done yet, they had to test the build quality by placing a bomb in each car located in the rear seat. Each car was set off by the owners of each car which meant Adam, Rutledge and Tanner. All of the cars suffered fire, burning everywhere and all the windows blasted out except the front window. But the real question was, did the engine still start? All of the cars started with no problem at all. After this, they slowly drove to a closed course for their third challenge. For this challenge, they had to drop their cars using a crane from 15 ft off of the ground. They could choose how they wanted their cars to be dropped, like on their side or on the trunk. Tanner was the first to go, he decided to drop his car on the passenger side. The car dropped and fell on the side leaving a pretty big mark, Adam went next and did the same. But Rutledge decided to be different and drop his car on the back. He did that and it dented the whole back of the car. And again, they tested to see if the cars would start. Each car started but showed a bit of struggle. Their last and final challenge was at a dirt bike track that was a small oval and consisted of humps and logs to go over. Each vehicle was completely drained of their oil. They had to run as many laps as they could until their car stopped. they all set off, and right off the bat, Adams car died leaving Rutledge in first and Tanner in second. Both of them were hitting each others car like it was a game of bumper cars. After about 10 laps, Rutledge's Volvo finally died leaving Tanner as the winner to end the episode. But lastly whoever won this challenge was competing in a totally different challenge. Since Tanner won, he had to drive a Mercedes Benz G-63 AMG, his task was to escape the military in this vehicle because he was being chased. After about 5 minutes, they caught him.
In my opinion, this episode was slightly better than the previous episode. But they could have did a better job on entertaining the viewers by doing more unexpected things to try and "wow" the audience. They had cut out on a lot of things that they did in the very first season such as "big star small car", they also had many other challenges and way more interesting things but now they don't. With all this being said, hopefully the newest top gear episode coming out this Tuesday night will be better.
