Top Gear Episode 4

This episode of Top Gear wasn't as good as the previous episodes in this season. The topic of this episode was nicknamed "speed". To me this episode was nicknamed "poor". For this episode, the had a to buy the cheapest vehicle possible for the least amount of money. But,the vehicles that they bought had to be capable of reaching 150 mph. Having that said, They each spent less than $3,600 dollars on their car. Adam chose a 1995 Pontiac Trans-am, Rutledge bought a 1994 Infiniti Q45 and Tanner bought a Saab 93 Vegan. With these vehicles, they had to reach at least 150 mph. But, they couldn't just go straight for it, they had to to do a couple of tests to see if the car could handle well because when you are traveling at a high rate of speed, there is a lot of things that come into play that you have to worry about. When traveling at high speeds, you have to worry about many things, those "things" includes, winds, what type of pavement you will be driving on, how old the car s, and many more. Top Gear set up a couple of challenges to test the cars weaknesses. As each challenge finished, each of the challenges tested how the car would handle in different positions. And there last and final challenge was set to see if their car of choice would be able to go up to 150 mph. Both Adam and Rutledge having V8's under the hood thought they wouldn't have a problem. But with the final challenge being done, Either Adam or Rutledge could touch 150. But Tanner, with his 4 cylinder stock turbo beat the challenge by 1 mph reaching 151 mph. But on the show, both Adam and Rutledge didn't believe that Tanner did it, so Rutledge claimed that he won the challenge. But Rutledge hit only about 138 mph. The show went on, since Rutledge "won" the challenge he was able to drive one of the fastest cars in the world, the Bugatti Veryon that has an outstanding top speed of 225 mph from the factory. Rutledge was told to deliver the car to a VIP which turned out to be Tanner. Adam and Tanner found out that Rutledge had cheated which was totally scripted. Tanner got to test out this beast and see how this car performs. This episode could have been way better than how it was planned. You could definitely tell that this episode was scripted which ruins the show in my opinion. Seeing this episode, i am hoping that the next episode will be a big step up. In my opinion, from a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the greatest, i thought this episode was a strong 6.
