In my opinion, this episode was slightly better than the previous episode. But they could have did a better job on entertaining the viewers by doing more unexpected things to try and "wow" the audience. They had cut out on a lot of things that they did in the very first season such as "big star small car", they also had many other challenges and way more interesting things but now they don't. With all this being said, hopefully the newest top gear episode coming out this Tuesday night will be better.

Top Gear (US Version) Episode #2 Review
Top Gears episode two was a pretty good episode that featured entertaining challenges. This episode was called, "Americas Toughest Vehicle". This episode was about the guys purchasing a vehicle that was at least 20 years old, and less than $2,000 dollars. With that being said, they could choose any vehicle that met these standards. Rutledge choose a 1990 Volvo 240, Adam choose a 1992 Chevy Caprice and lastly, Tanner choose a 1987 Toyota Corolla. After each of them gave a little info about their cars, they set off their first challenge which was a three way drag race. Rutledge had the slowest car and didn't even make it past the speed limit of 55 mph but while Adam had more horsepower under the hood, Tanner got the start with his 86 hp Corolla. But Adam was closely catching up to take the win of the first challenge. After this challenge they drove to a gun range and parked right behind each other right in front of the targets. This was their second challenge titled "reliability", They each had to shoot their cars with a 12 gauge shotgun. With is gun, they had to shoot each others cars three times. They chose to shoot the Volvo first, then the Chevy and finally the Corolla. Each car suffered bullet damage on the body and broken windows. But they were not done yet, they had to test the build quality by placing a bomb in each car located in the rear seat. Each car was set off by the owners of each car which meant Adam, Rutledge and Tanner. All of the cars suffered fire, burning everywhere and all the windows blasted out except the front window. But the real question was, did the engine still start? All of the cars started with no problem at all. After this, they slowly drove to a closed course for their third challenge. For this challenge, they had to drop their cars using a crane from 15 ft off of the ground. They could choose how they wanted their cars to be dropped, like on their side or on the trunk. Tanner was the first to go, he decided to drop his car on the passenger side. The car dropped and fell on the side leaving a pretty big mark, Adam went next and did the same. But Rutledge decided to be different and drop his car on the back. He did that and it dented the whole back of the car. And again, they tested to see if the cars would start. Each car started but showed a bit of struggle. Their last and final challenge was at a dirt bike track that was a small oval and consisted of humps and logs to go over. Each vehicle was completely drained of their oil. They had to run as many laps as they could until their car stopped. they all set off, and right off the bat, Adams car died leaving Rutledge in first and Tanner in second. Both of them were hitting each others car like it was a game of bumper cars. After about 10 laps, Rutledge's Volvo finally died leaving Tanner as the winner to end the episode. But lastly whoever won this challenge was competing in a totally different challenge. Since Tanner won, he had to drive a Mercedes Benz G-63 AMG, his task was to escape the military in this vehicle because he was being chased. After about 5 minutes, they caught him.
